Hairless Holiday Tips

Holidays are meant for relaxing, not emergency shaving or dealing with irritated skin on the go. Poor timing of waxing or shaving can lead to redness, bumps, or regrowth mid-trip, especially under the sun or in swimwear.

Shaving before a trip is common but short-lived, often resulting in regrowth within a day or two. Waxing offers smoother, longer lasting results but needs to be timed carefully to avoid post treatment sensitivity. Laser hair removal can also be planned ahead for permanent reduction if you're a frequent traveller but will take several treatments.

Don’t forget your aftercare to keep you feeling fantastic, soothing products like aloe vera, SPF, and loose clothing can prevent irritation during travel.

Aim to wax at least 48 to 72 hours before you travel to allow time for any redness to calm. Avoid sunbathing or applying harsh products immediately after treatment. For those who travel regularly and have opted for laser hair removal, stagger your laser sessions with holiday dates so you’re always vacation ready. Pack gentle cleansers, moisturiser, and breathable fabrics to maintain smooth skin while away.

We have had several clients who have booked waxing two to three days before their beach holidays and followed our post-care tips. They have enjoyed their entire trips without needing touch-ups, and returned with glowing skin and zero irritation. Some of them have also started laser to make future trips even easier.

Good hair removal planning is a holiday essential. Whether waxing or lasering, a few smart steps mean you spend less time grooming, and more time living the moment.

At our salon in Sheffield, Elegance at Ecclesall offers a range of hair removal treatments.
