How it works:

Applying a layer of premium warm wax to the skin, adheres to the hair and, when removed, pulls the hair out from the follicle.

The process of removing hair from the route can weaken the follicles leading to a gradual reduction in hair density resulting in finer regrowth.

To achieve longer periods of silky smooth skin it is important to understand the three phases of hair growth:

  • Anagen (growth phases) – The hair is nourished by the blood supply and lengthens. Waxing during this phase removes the hair from the root, leading to smoother long lasting results

  • Catagen (transition phase) – The hair shaft detaches and stops growing lasting 1-2 weeks

  • Telogen (resting phase) – The hair is dormant and the follicle is at rest. Waxing during this phase may result in quicker regrowth as the new hair is already growing

Getting a professional wax is the best way to achieve complete hair removal as a trained therapist can tailor the treatment to all skin  types and hair textures.

Elegance Top Tips - How to get the best results from your Wax

  • Consistently waxing every 4 to 6 weeks will help synchronise the hair growth cycle, so more hairs are in the anagen phase when you wax, resulting in smoother and longer lasting results

  • Optimal waxing results will be achieved when hair is between ¼ and ½ inches long therefore avoid shaving 3 to 4 weeks prior to your treatment. This allows the wax to grip the hair effectively, ensuring it can be pulled out from the root.

  • Frequent gentle exfoliation reduces ingrown hairs by removing dead skin cells that can clog follicles helping to lift and release the hair.
